So what lies ahead for the Church of Jesus Christ? …. This is a question of great concern to believers all over the world … and as global conditions continue to deteriorate, many are wondering … “Is there going to be a great revival before Christ’s return? … When will the church leave this world, and when it does, will it be with a whimper .. or a shout!
The Bible is jam-packed with predictions of most falling away in the last days. Let’s look at just a few … Ezekiel 33:31-32 says, “My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to listen to your words, but they do not put them into practice. With their mouths they express devotion, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. 32) Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice.” … Next, let’s look at Amos 8:11-12 which says, “The days are coming, declares the sovereign Lord, when I will send a famine through the land – not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the word of the Lord. 12) Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the Lord, but they will not find it.” … Moving now to the Gospel of Matthew, it says in 7:15 that “… many false prophets will come to you in sheep’s clothing,” … and in 24:24, it says “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect ….”
Jesus Himself prophesied these very things. …… As overwhelming sin and iniquity floods the earth … He asks,
” …. When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”
If we would stop for just a moment and think, we would realize that Jesus knew everything we would be witnessing and experiencing today …. from cataclysmic weather events to millions of babies being slaughtered through the societal acceptance of abortion … from worldwide increases of earthquakes and famine to the open acceptance of sinful lifestyles such as homosexuality. …… In the midst of all this, He asks if we will continue to believe? … Though earthly conditions continue to grow worse, will we lose our confidence … or will we continue to trust Him?
Remember that Jesus Himself knew and prophesied of these events such as ‘wars and rumors of war’ … of ‘famines and earthquakes’ … In fact, His word warns us that the ‘heathen will rage’ in the last days (Acts 4:25) … He knew the secular powers of our day would grow stronger and would even try to outlaw His church ……
The Bible says this about it all …. “The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against His Anointed One. 3) Let us break their chains, they say, and throw off their fetters.” (Psalm 2:2-3). … In short, the leaders of our day want to cast away all moral standards and the very foundation of which the Church was built upon.
Now what does God say about these earthly powers and demon-influenced people? … “The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.” (Psalm 2:4). ….. No matter how bad it will appear to get, everything will still remain under God’s control.
Let’s thank God for His word from the Psalms. … More and more we hear reports about secularism wiping out the church in Europe … of Islam being the fastest growing religion in the world … of homosexuals overtaking and splitting entire denominations … of Christ’s Church growing so weak it no longer has any impact on society … yet in Matthew 16:18, Jesus’ own words say, “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” …… Remember this! .. Nothing from the depths of hell can hope to destroy Christ’s Church. His eye is always on His flock and through everything He warns Satan not to touch His bride. … Isaiah 54:15 says, “If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you.” … See what God is saying here? …. that the enemy will come against you, but he will NOT succeed.
For a time, God will allow the devil to play his vile games, but ultimately it won’t have any impact on God’s last-day plan for His people. … Glory to the Lord! … His church cannot and will not be destroyed!
Sadly however, we do see the church suffering from the onslaught of the enemy in these closing difficult days … so much so that in many cases we are seeing a separation from God taking place … and where do we see it the most? … I believe primarily in the mainline denominational churches. … All the unauthorized changes over these past 2000 years have all but destroyed the original foundation on which Christ’s church was built.
When one looks around, it is evident there has been a significant separation from God’s manifest presence … and it has happened just as Jesus and Paul prophesied: ‘many have become lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God … have a form of religion with no power … despising the Gospel of their fathers … tearing down old moral landmarks … changing God’s infallible word to suit the times’ (Ref. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 & 4:3-4).
I challenge any and all of you to go to any city … from church to church … of every evangelical persuasion … and try to find one where you recognize the awesome presence of Jesus … where you encounter His heart-melting connection. … When the Lord is truly present, you can’t help but recognize it. … It may be in the singing .. the preaching .. or the fellowship. … Something stirs your soul and it produces an awe and reverence. … Sadly, from my own many experiences, this is rarely found.
So … we have a choice … we can sit around and lament … or we can make a difference! … To start, we need to stop being part of the problem and start rejoicing in the knowledge of our Lord’s constant and unwavering love …
we need to stop “going through the motions” … we need to stop being lukewarm and become “hot coals.” … If enough of us would do this, we would see an immediate impact in our Lord’s church. … I believe it’s the least we can do … after all, Christ died for it!
Quoting David Wilkerson, “The nails that pierced Jesus’ hands and feet were fashioned on the devil’s anvil … the sword that pierced His side was forged in that smith shop of hell … but the blood that poured forth from His body has never lost its power.”
In closing, we know that that tough times are upon us and will continue to increase for a time as like “birth pains” (Matthew 24) … but lets remember what Jesus said in Luke 21:28, “When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Brothers and sisters, the day is coming when the whole world will see Jesus! The Apostle John envisioned “… a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10) And they cried out in a loud voice: Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:9-10).

*Joel Rosenberg – “Firestorm: Chic-Fil-A under attack for defending traditional marriage”
The company’s president, Dan Cathy, a devout born-again follower of Jesus Christ, created quite a controversy when he said that he strongly believes in ‘traditional marriage’ between one man and one woman. … He also warned that America could trigger the judgement of God against us of we choose to continue defying the Bible’s teachings on marriage. …… I couldn’t agree with him more! …. and isn’t it interesting the violent reaction we receive from the liberal left when all we are doing is stating our belief … just as they so often do, usually without too much vitriol. …… I wonder maybe if it isn’t an underlying sense of guilt and shame they must feel …. it has to be something of that nature to trigger such outrage over a differing opinion.

Doesn’t surprise me … Remember that Luke 21:25 says “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars ….” I believe these occurrences will only increase as the “birth pains” come ever closer together as we draw nearer to Christ’s triumphant return ….. Hallelujah!
Ok … We are done with another week’s worth of prophetic-related news … What I find interesting is the ‘lack’ of economic news of late. I know this is a common occurrence in the deep summer months, what with all the politicians on vacation, but the way it was going just prior … it just surprises me that it has
become this quiet ……. But just wait a few more weeks! …. When all these ‘brilliant’ minds come back together, havoc will once again prevail! … I know it sounds like I’m excited about this … but seriously, the major economic problems that were occurring just a few weeks ago just aren’t going to disappear overnight! … It’s coming, and it will be extremely interesting to watch unfold.
Have a great week! … and thank you for your continued support. Last week was our 2nd highest for the number of visits to our site. …. We are very grateful … and please continue to tell your friends about us ..
Until next time,
In my closing comments concerning last week’s news headlines, I mentioned that we prophecy ‘watchers’ used terms like ‘crisis’ … ‘fiscal cliffs’ … ‘dangerous new stage’ … ‘economic end is near’ … quite often and warned to NOT become numbed by these constant warnings. …. Well, this “boy who cried wolf’ syndrome has been nagging at me for quite some time … so, I want to ask each of you something. … How keen is your sense of crisis? How acutely do you perceive the dangers facing your life … your family’s … our world?
Like it or not, our planet faces catastrophic dangers that threaten our very survival … so does this create within you a sense of crisis so deep that you are motivated to learn how to escape the danger?
I often speak about the threat of economic ‘armageddon’ lingering over our nation and the world … and also of the spiritual and moral disintegration of our societies … as well as the dangers we face from increasing disease, epidemics, natural disasters, and on & on …. But as I look around and, despite all these dangers, I see a very little sense of crisis, or urgency … globally, nationally, or individually.
Why? .. Simply, I believe human nature dislikes the truth when it threatens to disrupt our own interests, desires and lifestyle. We will go to great lengths to hide from the truth or to color it in our own terms … if the truth demands that we act counter to our desires.
Ultimately, this individual and collective lack of a sense of crisis is the result of cultures driven by self-indulgence, self-gratification and pleasure. … Wrapped up in this materialism and unbalanced desire for satisfying the senses, our people have lost touch with the realities facing us today.
…………. THIS IS A DEADLY STATE OF MIND!!! ………….
History shows what happens when people become consumed by materialism and self-gratification, and lose their capacity to sense crisis. … Matthew 24:36-39 says, “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37) As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38) For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39) and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” … This is a passage describing the time of Noah, when people were focused on satisfying fleshly lusts and were shocked when the heavens opened, the flood came and took them all away.
Now turn to 2 Timothy 3:1-5 which states, “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2) People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3) without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4) treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God – 5) having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.” … Is this a prophecy for today? Certainly each of you can look around and decide this for yourself, but I personally have NO doubt that very little time is left before Almighty God deals with our sinful world.
Having said this, I want to spend just a moment to address the condition of today’s church and how it fits into the current world landscape. … With few exceptions, it is truly astonishing to watch the speed of Christian acceptance of the changing world political, economic, societal and religious values. ….. Deception is rampant!!! ……….. Jesus, in His Olivet Discourse, forewarned of this great deception that will descend upon the world just before His return to earth. He warned us to be watchful for this deception! 2 Peter 3:3 says, “First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.”
To quote brother Terry James, “Deception today is horrific in its scope and influence. So deluding are its powerful manipulations that much of the church is all but anesthetized to truth, which several decades ago was solidly front and center in defending against all attempts at seduction by the world, the flesh, and the devil. Not so now. The sugary pabulum coming from the ministries with the most funding for their TV extravaganzas and mega-million dollar media/entertainment centers, supposedly serving the cause of Christ, spews the luke-warm, feel-good message that must make the Lord of Heaven nauseous.” … 2 Timothy 4:3-4 says, “For a time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4) They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”
In fairness, I said earlier there are some exceptions to the “Laodicean, lukewarm church.” For one, the late David Wilkerson, well-known author of “The Cross and the Switchblade” as well as pastor of Times Square Church in New York City, recently predicted, “An earth-shattering calamity is about to happen,” and urges his followers to get an emergency supply of food. … I believe it illustrates wisdom when preachers like Wilkerson advocate disaster readiness to their flocks. … The Book of James measures faith by personal action, and Hebrews 11:7 describes true faith this way … “By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family.”
Should our churches be doing any less in these times? … I pose this question to all church leaders which include pastors, board members, elders, deacons, etc., ….. what are you doing to prepare for the coming days ahead concerning your flock?
For starters, I think we need to be begin focusing on necessities … not niceties. … We need to quit spending valuable assets on bigger buildings with all the trimmings and start focusing on food banks, medical supplies and services that will help those in need as we head into more trying times. … Noah’s
actions should define modern believer’s responsibilities, including the need for spiritual as well as physical preparedness.
2 Peter 3:8-9 says, “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends; With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9) The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” … Simply, we don’t know how long the Lord will tarry before He returns for His Church. … Let us prepare for whatever is in store as far as time goes.
Finally, 2 Peter 1:19,21 states, “And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place …….. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” …… and this is exactly why I continue to press the issue of understanding prophecy and its usefulness to not only bolster those who do believe, but also to wake up those who are lost in the crisis and chaos of the day.
I believe that time is very short … so I challenge each of you to start telling your loved ones, friends and acquaintances about our Lord and Savior … and how He can deliver them from this hour of worldly crisis.
Luke 21:25-28 says it clearly … “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26) Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27) At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28) When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Until next time,
