Societal chaos! .. Pandemics! .. Record weather events! .. Is this it?! .. Is this the end of the world?! .. Is this the ‘four horsemen of the apocalypse’ or ‘the battle of Armageddon’ that somebody mentioned was in the Bible?! .. There is no doubt that the world seems destined for total destruction, & sadly, the vast majority seem to see only the horror of it all ..
Today, I want to challenge that mindset .. To the point, I believe this coming ‘end of the world’ will, in reality, will be just the beginning of a radical new way of life! .. As some of us know, God is merciful .. & in the midst of all this current chaos & tragedy, He will give every one of us a choice, to choose His way & live, or deny it & die .. The future world God has for us, after the “birth pains’ are finished, will be all about life – life everlasting & abundant! .. A life with Him for eternity! .. Hallelujah!!!
Now to begin to clearly understand what God intended for our future, we first need to recognize that He laid it out for us in the Bible .. Simply put, the Bible contains God’s agenda for the future of planet Earth, & every soul that was, is & will be on it ..
“OK, Red, so how do we know the Bible is true?” …. “I’m so glad you asked! .. Knowing & believing that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, it has proven itself over & over throughout the centuries .. First, let’s focus on just one major prophecy, which is perhaps the most astounding evidence of the fact that we are witnessing the approach of the ‘end times’ of this current age & the promised return of Jesus Christ to establish His new kingdom .. & that proof comes from a single word – Israel – It became (again) a sovereign state on May 14, 1948, which is a modern-day miracle as it fulfilled a 2500-year-old prophecy in the Book of Ezekiel, chapter 37 .. Simply stated, no nation in the history of mankind existed, then did not exist, & then again came back into existence, except Israel!”
Bible prophecy is simply defined as history written in advance .. & consider this .. Nearly one-third of the Bible is prophecy (28%) .. There are approximately 1000 prophecies written in the Bible, & over one-half have been fulfilled, NEVER WRONG! .. TOTALLY WITHOUT ERROR! .. Even scientists & mathematicians say this is way beyond coincidence! .. The remaining prophecies will all be fulfilled in these end times, of which & believe many are occurring right now before our eyes! .. Just read Matthew 24:4-8 as one example .. I believe that we will personally witness all the rest of them in the very, very short time remaining in this age! ..
Only God can write history in advance & have it come to pass .. & knowing that the first half of prophecy was fulfilled to the letter, it only tells us that the remaining half will also be fulfilled to the letter! .. This also proves that Jesus Christ was, & is, the ONE & ONLY true Messiah when He came to this earth! .. No one else has even come close! ..
Just for grins, let’s look at just a quick couple of prophecies to watch for ..
*Globalism (One-World Government) – Just going back 100+ years, we see after World War 1 the forming of the ‘League of Nations’ .. Then after World War 2 we witnessed the forming of the ‘United Nations’ .. & of course there are many, many signs in today’s world, both overt & covert, of movements to ‘finish up’ this process of a system of total control of the world’s population .. This will be none other than the prophesied future ‘Babylon’ .. .. What it all comes down to is that it will be a 3-legged stool – Global Govt., Global Economy & Global Religion .. In the Bible, each of these are prophesied to be a part of the world powers at the end of the age, & each will be destroyed by God, again according to Bible prophecy (see Revelation 17-18) ..
The rise of this political Babylon, the global system of government, will be an integral element of the end times as predicted in the Word of God .. & I believe we are seeing the stage being set for this eventual rise of this new Babylon .. There must be, the Bible says, a global unification among the nations gathered around a grand capital, a political & legal coalition, & it’s right there in Rev. 17 & 18, the last book of the Bible! … Just look around! .. Be honest with yourself, & as you look, don’t you see the beginning movement among the nations of this planet to work together to create a New World Order? .. To sum up, we know that there WILL BE a ‘political’ Babylon for certain – a unification of the powers of the planet ….
There will also be a ‘religious’ Babylonian in these end times, which is another leg of the 3-legged stool .. There will be a merging of the religions of the world into one massive conglomerate of false spirituality .. So when does this happen? .. Ultimately NOT until the true followers of Jesus Christ, the remnant, is ‘raptured’ – taken up instantaneously to Heaven - & when that happens, with the restraining ‘Holy Spirit’ power of the true church gone from the earth, there will be nothing to stop this massive global merger of the world’s religions (see 2 Thessalonians 3), and then of course will be the appearance of the ‘false prophet’ who will set in motion the blasphemous idol worship of the anti-christ, exactly as prophesied in Revelation 13! ..
Now, in addition to the political & religious aspects, there will also be an economic Babylon .. The Apostle John, in Revelation, describes this future global financial center .. “ … the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality.” (Rev. 18:3) .. When God finally vanquishes Babylon, as we are told He will, who is going to mourn her great fall? .. We are told that the ‘merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargos anymore.” .. What are the signs of this coming global economic Babylon? .. We are warned in the Bible that there will be a future international system of buying & selling, trading & investing .. Revelation 13 tells us that the anti-christ – the Beast – will eventually establish a world financial & monetary system that will have the entire planet within its deadly grip!
Finishing up, I know that many people say the Bible assures us that we can’t know the specific time that Christ will return to the earth .. This is true .. But on the other hand, why would Jesus, as we are told in the Gospels, have given us an exhaustive list of events that will precede His return if He didn’t want us to use that information, if He didn’t want us to watch the times & to discern so we could recognize the signs of His soon coming? .. Jesus said that ‘we would know the season’ ..
One of the great questions that has plagued philosophers over thousands of years is this one: ‘How can I truly know that what I know is true?’ .. I have a suggestion for you .. You can know FOR SURE what you know by basing your knowledge on those things that God has chosen to reveal .. & the only way you can do this is by relying on His Word, the Holy Spirit-inspired Bible! .. His Word says that the world is heading toward a global, unified 3-legged entity that will totally control every aspect of human life that remains on earth .. Trust me when I say, you don’t want to be around when that takes place! ..
I know this is a lot to take in, & there is so much more to share on it all .. Going forward, I am going to try very hard to tear into each of these parts of this stool .. The signs are EVERYWHERE .. All we have to do is look, & then ‘see’ ……
