So, should I be upset with the election results? In my old life, I would have been but in my new life in Jesus, it matters not to me. He has put into office who He’s chosen to be there. It is now my duty and Christian responsibility to pray for him (I Timothy 1-2) and all the other leaders that have been strategically placed in God’s overall plan.
The one thing that I am happy about is that America is becoming colorblind. This is a good thing! I was blessed because I was raised by a mother who taught me never to judge someone by the color of their skin or where they were from. I’ll be eternally grateful to her for that.
But, how might this election play out on our national life as well as the prophetic scene?
First of all, with the election results in, we are seeing one of the most profound political and ideological shifts in the history of this nation. Liberals will dominate the entire government in a way they haven’t since 1965 when L.B.J. took office, or 1933, the beginning days of F.D.R. and eventually, The New Deal.
But there is one glaring difference – the Democratic party of today is far more morally liberal than it was during any previous super-majority. I can’t imagine F.D.R. addressing the virtues of gay marriage for example. President-Elect Obama has long supported gay unions.
But to me — even more scary than Mr. Obama’s liberal positions — is the fact that he’s partnering up with Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who represents America’s Sodom and Gomorrah: San Francisco. Also rounding out the fearsome threesome is Harry Reid, the constantly irritated Mormon from Utah. (I’ve never seen him smile!) Looking at this line-up leaves little doubt that most of the coming liberal agenda will have virtually no opposition.
As for the Christian community, I believe we in America are rapidly moving into a post-Christian era. I don’t mean to pick on this guy before he takes office, but I believe it’s my responsibility as an observer of God’s prophecy to point out certain facts that are now taking place.
Simply stated, this will be the first administration publicly dedicated to re-defining marriage, encouraging homosexual rights, restricting free speech and the preaching of Biblical principles, encouraging unrestricted abortion and suppressing individual initiative – all of which is in direct conflict with this nation’s Christian heritage. This will translate also to post-God’s blessings and post-God’s protection.
Now I know this sounds harsh, but it is based upon campaign promises and letters to special interest groups.
Also astounding to me is the number of church leaders and fellow Christians that supported this candidate and his agenda. This will definitely be discussed in upcoming commentary.
Next, what will this new majority do for America on the international scene? First of all, there’s little doubt that our new leaders will be much more receptive to diplomatic discussion as opposed to military options. Not to say that I agree or disagree, what this environment will promote is a much less aggressive approach, which will rapidly translate to an international balance of power. Now, coupling that with the ongoing shift in the economic picture, which is rapidly moving to Asia and the E.U. (the revived Roman Empire), this will put America in a much more weakened condition and loss of her super-power status.
So what does this mean in the prophetic light? When we read passages from Revelation, Daniel, and Ezekiel, we see NO sign of America in the last days scenario. Specifically, in Ezekiel 38 and 39, this prophet of some 2600 years ago names the countries that are involved in the rapidly approaching “Ezekiel War”. These countries exist today and the U.S. is not one of them! (I’ll soon have a complete study on the “Ezekiel War” available on this site.)
Also in the prophetic overview of Armageddon, the final battle, the King of the North (Russia), the King of the East (China) and many others are listed, but not America.
Tim LaHaye, in his “Left Behind” series, displays a ten-zone (or region) format for the nations of the Earth in its final throes before our Lord’s triumphant return. Could America end up being a part of one of these zones? If China and the Arab states keep buying us up, we won’t have much choice but to do what they tell us. After all, they will own us.
While I know this all sounds depressing and the world appears to be in total chaos, take heart, dear Christian brothers and sisters! God’s plan is unfolding before our very eyes! I encourage each of you to become aware of what the prophets and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself said of these times. It will help each of you to deal with life in these traumatic days.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:6 that we should not be alarmed because these things must happen. Also, I Thessalonians 1:10 states that Jesus will rescue us from the coming wrath.
So be strong, stay calm, love and reach out to one another. And remember that as the “contractions” come more rapidly, it only means that our Lord and Savior is much closer to coming for us!
Until next time,

It is late in the evening of November 2nd, just two days before this nation’s presidential election. That in itself is an incredible story, but needs to wait until after Tuesday when the results are in
What captures me tonight is the state of our nation and the world’s economic condition. What we saw take place in October of 2008 was unprecedented. In my view, the world and U.S. economy have moved to near the top in prophetic urgency. Current economic forces have shifted so rapidly that it’s forcing the world into a whole new paradigm.
For the first time ever, central banks around the world have joined together to discuss the best way to help resolve this grave financial situation. In other words, what we see is the beginning of over all globalization of the world economy.
Certainly its nerve-wracking to see our markets plunge some 40-50% since its high last year, but I think something far more significant is on the horizon – and the result will see a system evolve where all of the citizens of this planet will be required to receive an identification mark on either their foreheads of right hands (Revelation 13) in order to exist in any worldly economic form. This requirement will be enforced by the soon-to-be world leader, better know as the Anti-Christ.
There can be little doubt about God’s view of fallen mankind’s deadly love affair with money. He speaks of it through the Apostle Paul, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” (I Timothy 6:10)
It’s extremely important to note that God’s word speaks specifically to those of “faith”. The love of money is at the heart of all that is evil in the world, and that misplaced love takes even believers down the path away from the Lord when they get caught up in following the love of money trail.
Judgment begins with His own – believers – when this happens. The end of such evil is desperation and sorrow, Paul forewarns. We have only to look at things going on within the Body of Christ today to know that many are following the money. There is a “prosperity” message in this present hour that robs God of His rightful place in the hearts and minds of His children.
The message proclaims in effect that God is a sugar daddy and owes His people the very best. They shout twenty-four hours a day on their nation-wide broadcasts – rather than preaching and teaching that we owe our very salvation to Him – and it is our duty to warn people that Hell awaits, without their coming to Christ in repentance.
Just like the world, many in the Body of Christ today are reprobate (unprincipled or depraved) in their thinking. They have turned God’s word upside down. Good has become evil and evil good, sadly, even with great numbers of those who are in Christ.
So what does this rapid acceleration of the love of “filthy lucre: mean? Again, God’s word tells us that evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse (2 Timothy 3:13).
So what is the foundation of the evil in man? That’s right – the love of money. The love of money is the root of all evil (I Timothy 6:10). (Other scriptural references include 2 Timothy 3:2, Luke 16:13 and Matthew 6:24).
In summation, God’s word affirms without reservation what should be mankind’s priorities for conducting our lives while upon this fallen earth. As recently mentioned by Pastor David Wilkerson in His teachings, when Peter and the Lord Himself taught about how to conduct our lives, the priorities were never about the size of our bank accounts, 401k’s, or our mortgages, but simply – the condition of our spirit.
No anywhere did their top priorities include the love of money or what it could do for making our lives better. As previously shown in scripture, the love of money is the root of all evil – not of anything good.
Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you’. So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’ ”

October 25, 2008
As we are witnessing in these final days leading up to America’s Presidential Election, change has been promised by both candidates. John McCain, in his speech at the Republican Convention in September mentioned the word ten times. His counterpart, Barak Obama, has been promising change from the beginning of his campaign. He mentioned the word sixteen times in his convention speech.
Of course, we don’t expect any candidate to campaign on keeping things as they are. From the beginning of time, all leaders have promised change and a better world. “Vote for me and we’ll get in there and shake things up.” “We’ll get this country going again.” “Utopia is just a vote away!” — Fact is, no leader ever sets out to create a legacy of same-old, status quo failure.
Simply put, not one of the primary forms of government in human history such as monarch, democracy, republic, despotism, tyranny — nor system of political economy such as capitalism or communism has ever sustained or had any real semblance of peace and prosperity for the masses over the long haul.
None have made good on their promises. All have been plagued by failure and corruption.
With so many years of history to look upon, why do we still cling to the hope that the solution is right around the corner? The prophet Isaiah described it nearly 3,000 years ago. “We wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.”
So what about today’s landscape and all the rhetoric of promises?
Like every presidential hopeful, John McCain is making some big promises. He has pledged to combat hunger nationwide, win the war in Iraq, end the dependence of mid-east oil, capture Osama, and expand the military. He also promises to restore people’s trust in government, secure America’s borders, fix FEMA and balance the budget. A few added attractions are to save the Everglades, rid Africa of Malaria and help smokers quit. Oh, and he wants to stop wasteful government spending, rescue Medicare and save Social Security without raising taxes – and this is just the short list!
As astounding as these promises are, they don’t even touch those of his opponent.
Obama has promised to, among many other things, to safeguard all nuclear material worldwide within his first term, stop nuclear weapons development, finish the war in Afghanistan, rid Pakistan of Al Qaeda, end the Darfur genocide, and create a Palestinian state that will exist side-by-side with Israel. He also will cut the world’s extreme poverty in half and boost international aid. He will revitalize inner cities, over-haul immigration laws, outlaw discrimination against transsexuals, ban racial profiling and put more doctors in rural areas. He will also provide free college education for those wanting to be teachers, provide healthcare for every American, and preserve Social Security – all while slashing federal waste and cutting taxes for 95% of working families! Oh – and he pledges to reduce carbon emissions 80% by 2050 as well as solving America’s energy crisis once and for all! And this is just picking a few from a much larger campaign list.
So, I wonder how many Americans really believe these mere mortals could actually keep these promises. Hard to say, but one thing I do know for sure, these promises are about to be cut to pieces.
We also know that the next president will face a dramatically altered economic landscape. His term may well be consumed with trying to survive the sagging stock market, falling home prices, record-setting job losses and failing businesses. Also, the recent bound in the dollar, not caused by a stronger U.S., but by a weakened global economy, will prove temporary. Inflation will increase!
In addition to all this, consumer spending will slump. To finance all of these promises, the next president will need cash. But where will it come from? He will face ever-increasing miserly foreign lenders, not to mention the loss in tax revenue from either promised cuts or less corporate production. Essentially, he will find it impossible to ‘spend’ the nation out of recession.
I could go on and on, but you get the picture.
Now let’s move to the social problems he will face — unemployment, inflation, recession, food shortages, fractured families and neighborhoods. This will lend to increased substance abuse, domestic violence and crime.
Also, we are now seeing the increasing up-kick in environmental disasters, which are taking extra revenue that previously was used for other societal needs.
So – these two well-intentioned candidates, though differing on specifics, will soon find out that they will be taking the reigns of a country with problems that are worse than ever.
The reality is that the next president will be taking the helm of a ‘cursed’ nation.
When we look at what has taken place in recent years in this country, it is no wonder that the curses progressively befallen this nation are increasing. It is obvious that this nation has turned its face completely away from the god who had given it such abundant blessings.
This nation, which once exalted our Lord, has now made it ‘illegal’ to pray in public places. This nation has allowed at least fifty million murders under the guise of legalized abortion. This nation has enabled homosexuals to openly practice a lifestyle described as an abomination in the Holy Scriptures. This nation is trying to talk Israel into dividing its land that was given to them by god Almighty Himself. This nation now supports the division of Jerusalem, the Holy city of God! And we wonder why it is cursed?!!!
As surely as the Bible prophesies these coming events, it foretells of its ultimate replacement by a righteous government that will – at long last—fulfill that perennial promise of politics. Change is coming! “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ, and He shall reign for every and ever.” (Revelation 11:15) That truly is the change you can believe.
Until next time,
Red
