Tragedy stalks us at every turn. .. Violence and bloodshed flood the news outlets .. with each passing moment, world events change dramatically .. at every turn, there is a new shocking headline ..... records in most categories of world weather are falling by the day ... there is a constant threat of wars & rumors of wars .. the world's economy is unraveling in almost every nation on the planet ..... but amazingly, the vast majority of people, including christians, seem to be oblivious to the fact that all these events ... these calamities that are engulfing us .. are the signs that were predicted in Bible prophecy thousands of years ago! .... It is truly like the "Days of Noah" where people just kept doing their own thing .. unaware .. until calamity swept down to engulf their entire world .... (Matthew 24:36-39)
But Noah was warned by God of the coming storm and heeded His instructions. ... Most all of us who are christians know the story, recorded in Genesis, chapters 6-8. ... The lesson, of course, is that Noah did listen, and as a result, was spared from the destruction of the flood.
Is it any different today? ... We are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 ... "but you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief ... We do not belong to the night or to the darkness ,,, let us not be like others who are asleep, but let us be alert ...." .... Simply, God is telling those of us who are listening that He is about to 'come down' on this sinful world.
With that in mind, let's look at three specific signs we are seeing in the headlines just this week ... The Destruction of Damascus ... The Rebuilding of God's Temple ... The Ezekiel War ... Allow me to give a brief overview ...
*The Destruction of Damascus - Isaiah 17:1-3 & Jeremiah 49:23-27 .... There's too many news stories to mention concerning Syria/ Damascus these past few days, but suffice it to say that this current mess in Syria can, and most likely will lead up to thedestruction of this ancient city. ... In verse 1 of Isaiah 17, it is prophesied that "Damascus will no longer be a city but will become a heap of ruins." .... History shows that this has never happened ... ever! ... So it must take place before the culmination of the end of the age. ..... Will it be right now? .. No one knows for sure, but I can guarantee you that it WILL happen ...
*The Rebuilding of the Temple - Although many Bible scholars believe that because of the death, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the physical temple was, and is no longer needed because of His ultimate and eternal sacrifice. .. While I don't disagree with the premise of this teaching, the Bible indicates that there will be a physical temple in existence in the last days. ... Daniel 9;27 tells of the Anti-Christ entering a physical temple in the middle of the Tribulation period. ... "He will confirm a covenant with many for one seven. .. In the middle of the seven he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple, he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed and poured out on him." (also see Daniel 11:31)
We must remember that the Jews don't believe in Jesus as their Messiah .. at least not yet .. so therefore will still need a temple for their sacrifices and offerings. ... Because of this they desire greatly to rebuild the temple as soon as it is possible. ... Keep in mind that they've only been back in their land for 65 years, plus there is a major obstacle ... the Dome of the Rock, which is rumored to be sitting on the exact site, is the third-most holy shrine of the Muslims. ... Therefore, they will fight for every inch of this real estate.
As for this week's news concerning this prophecy, we saw an article on the 12th in "Israel Today" stating ... "Palestinians declare war over Temple Mount." The story went on to say that "The armed wing of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' own Fatah faction has declared war on Israel over what is said are attempts to lay the groundwork for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem." ... Even though the Israelites are very secretive, and the reasons are obvious, there are rumors of planning going on for this new temple. ... They will build it!
*The Ezekiel War - Ezekiel 38 & 39 - Somewhere close to the proximity of the time of the Rapture of the Church, many nations will join together and attack Israel. .. A large force from the extreme north of Israel, identified in the Bible as Magog, and believed by a vast majority of today's prophecy students to be modern-day Russia, will join with allies that are hostile toward Israel. ... It is amazing to note that these nations the Bible mentions are hostile toward Israel at this very time! ... Meshech & Tubal (Russian area) ... Persia (Iran) ... Cush (Sudan) ... Put (Libya) ... Gomer (Turkey) ... Beth-Togarmah (central Asia) ....
So now let's look at this week's news concerning this coming event ...
*9/11 - France 24 - "Putin arming Iran" .... Russia & Iran (Magog & Persia) have NEVER been allies since the
beginning of time ... until now!
*World Net Daily - "America giving control to Russia" ... The only remaining world super-power is fading quickly,
and in so doing, is handing the reigns of power to Magog ....
*World Net Daily - "Putin to visit Iran to discuss nuclear issues" ... Again, they are now friendly ... for the first time ever!
Now if you look at these happenings and add all the other stuff going on, like the increase of record-breaking weather events, civil chaos, mass public killings on our streets, the coming economic crisis ... one cannot deny the accuracy of Christ's teaching in Matthew 24:8 ... "All these are the beginning of birth pains." ... The world's labor pains are only now seconds apart and the birth of the New Age is but moments away!
I'm so excited right now! ... For us prophecy "watchmen," it just doesn't get any better than this! ... But the bottom line? ... Almost every prophecy leading up to the coming of the Lord has been fulfilled. ... Th three aforementioned have not, but are obviously on the verge! ... And then, all of a sudden, there's none left! ... It is truly only a matter of moments. ....
Night is coming ... a darkness that will cover the entire globe in suffering and sorrow such as the world has never known! ... But remember this ... we are NOT to sit and wring our hands about all that is coming upon us. ... God has provided a way to escape this coming darkness. ... Now is the time to tell everyone you know about the hope of a brand new world that is waiting for us! ..... Hallelujah!!!
