Welcome

We're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!  After a nearly two-year sabbatical, we are coming back on-line and I'm sooooooo excited to once again have the opportunity to talk about what's taking place in the world around us and how it relates to the Bible's teachings.  Much is happening very rapidly, so stand by, we are 'off to the races' once again!

Before I go any further, I want to first thank Lucinda Brown for her hard work & dedication in setting up this site and then her continued maintenance in its initial run.  I now want to express my heartfelt thanks to Mary Fast who is bringing it back to life and managing it for me as we go forward.  These two Christian warriors have done, and continue to do this out of their love for the Lord and service to His kingdom.. May God richly bless you both!!!
As before, I want to continue to focus on the title - Light In The Darkness - as to how it relates to our current worldly condition.  Specifically, there are two parts - light & darkness - so let's once again begin with the latter - darkness.
As we continue forward in these days, most everything we see going on around the world seems dark and scary.  Spend just a few minutes looking at news headlines and it's really quite depressing!  It's hard to find any joy.  As I've commented about many times in the past, just watch the people around you when you are out in public places.  It's amazing as to how detached and removed they are in regards to everything around them. Try saying hello or be polite some time and it's as if they are bothered and affronted by your interrupting their private world.  It is truly as if a 'public psychosis' has set in.  Let us remember what the prophet Daniel said in Chapter 12, verse 4 of his book- "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." (KJV).
Why has all of this come to pass? Why does everything seem to be collapsing all around us? ..... As I and other "watchmen" of God's word reveal to you His teachings, it will become apparent as to why.  Simply, we have collectively lost sight of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Let's briefly look at what Jesus said about what it would be like in these last days. Specifically, His major teachings on this subject are mentioned in three of the four Gospels, starting with Matthew 24, as well as Mark 13 and Luke 21.  Let's quickly review just a few highlights of these teachings concerning end-time conditions. ......... First, let's go to Matthew 24:4-8. It speaks of deception, wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, kingdom against kingdom, famines, earthquakes --- sound familiar? ........... Jesus also says in this passage that these symptoms would be "the beginning of birth pains" (NIV).  Other translations say "the beginning of sorrows" (NKJV, etc).  He also states that these things will increase right up until the time of His triumphant return.
Rejoice brothers and sisters!!!  This is simply proof that He is coming back very, very soon!!!
There are many more prophecies relating to these end times we are living in, such as the impending Ezekiel War spoken of in his chapters 38 and 39. Just for grins, read it and see for yourself which countries are mentioned specifically as surrounding and threatening Israel (Iran, Syria, Turkey, Russia, and more).  Then remember that these passages were written some 2600 years ago!!! Amazing!!!  -- (For more specific teaching on this, go to the 'Teaching' tab and look up 'Ezekiel War').
Also, Israel specifically plays a major role in this end time period. In fact, Jesus said that the rebirth of Israel would be a super sign of these perilous times, specifically in Matthew 24:32-35, as well as Mark 13:28-29. Here our Lord uses the fig tree as a reference to Israel's rebirth just prior to His return. A quick glimpse at history shows us that this took place on May 14th, 1948.
This is a truly astounding phenomenon considering NO other nation in recorded history has ever done this - existence to non-existence to existence. Jesus then finalized the proof of this prophecy by saying that this one generation would not pass before His return.  Goose Bumps Time!!!
As we move ever closer to His glorious return, I will bring you, Lord willing, more complete teaching on these subjects, as well as many others such as the Rapture, the Anti-Christ, America's role in these last days, the condition of today's church in America, and whatever else the Holy Spirit desires.
Now let's get back to the title and talk about the best part ...... the Light.  -- Matthew 5:14 says that we are the light of the world. Conversely, those without light have every reason to tremble and fear in these times - which brings me to the main point of this teaching.

In my daily walk, I come into contact with many people, both Christian and non-christian. Almost all are living with some degree of fear.  Let's face it, we are living in unprecedented times!!!  However, living in fear should NEVER be the case for the child of God!  2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."

As Jesus laid His right hand on John and said to him, "Do not be afraid," He was reiterating terms He often used including, "Do not be afraid", 'Peace be with you", and "Do not let your heart be troubled". These messages not only encouraged the disciples of Jesus' day, but also reflect the attitude that should characterize His disciples in every age, for He said in giving the Great Commission, "And surely I am with you always." (Matthew 28:20).
The greatest cure for one's natural fear is the personal presence of Jesus Christ.
In chapter One of Revelation, notice Jesus' four reasons why we need not fear:
1) "I am the first and the Last" (Revelation 1:17) speaks of Christ's eternity.  He is before all things, and after all things are through. He is and will still be in control.
2) "I am the living one; I was dead" (Revelation 1:18) speaks of Christ's sacrificial death for our sins and His resurrection. This phrase attests to the fact that we worship a risen, living Christ.
3) "I am alive for ever and ever!" (Revelation 1:18) The scripture tells us that Christ "died for sins once and for all" (1 Peter 3:18).  He will not die again. He will not change His state. He will always be!  I pray that people might realize the decision of accepting or rejecting Jesus as an ETERNAL decision.  Just as He is able to save "for ever and ever," so He is able to damn forever those who reject Him.
4) "And I hold the keys of death and hades." (Revelation 1:18)  This is a detail that John did not record in his description, but Jesus stated that in His hand He holds "the keys of death and hades."  These keys were evidently purchased with His own blood, for according to Hebrews 2:14-15, "By His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death - that is , the devil - and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death."  ..............  We Christians need not fear death or hades. We Christians need not fear the enemy because of our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ, which set us free from the depths of Hell.
By walking with this confidence in our faith, we then become the LIGHT people seek, just by our example of living in these times with NO fear.
May God bless each and every one of you and deliver you from fear and trepidation.
