This was posted on Twitter this morning, & once reading & praying about it, I felt a strong sense of needing to share it with all of you .. First the post, & then my thoughts ……
“I do not believe these are days for mincing words. I’m 63+ years old I have never seen anything in theses United States of America I found more astonishingly seductive & dangerous to the saints og God than Trumpism. This Christian nationalism is not of God. Move back from it.
“Fellow leaders, we will be held responsible for remaining passive in this day of seduction to save our own skin while the saints we’ve been entrusted to serve are being seduced, manipulated, USED and stirred up into a lather of zeal devoid of the Holy Spirit for political gain.
“And, God help us, we don’t turn from Trumpism to Bidenism. We do not worship flesh and blood. We do not place our faith in mortals. We are the church of the living God. We can’t sanctify idolatry by labeling a leader our Cyrus. We need no Cyrus. We have a king. His name is Jesus.”

At the risk of upsetting some of you, I totally 100% agree with this statement! .. And before you delete this, please allow me to explain why .. Briefly stated, in the days past, I was a conservative, somewhat militant, & a Vietnam veteran to boot .. But about 15 years ago, the Holy Spirit directed me to do an in-depth study of Christ’s ‘red letter’ teachings .. It took some time, but after some 2+ years, I came out the other side a completely ‘transformed’ person! .. No longer was I right or left politically, was a militant in any way, but totally & completely a-politiical .. I finally realized that all things are about the Kingdom of God & NOT about the human ways to run our lives here on earth .. In all of history, man’s ways have always failed, no matter how hard they have tried .. If we are honest with ourselves & just look at what this current nationalism is doing to both our nation & the church, we have to admit that is destroying both! ..
So what are we to do in these increasingly difficult times of Christ’s prophesied ‘birth pains’? .. As with all things, we only have to go to our Bible’s teachings to find out .. Here’s just a couple of answers .. In John 15:18-19, it says, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19) If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” .. These are Jesus’ words to His followers! .. So then, if not nationalism & the like, what are we to do? .. I’m glad you asked .. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 says it perfectly .. “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4) The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” .. So what is it then? .. Clearly, it is referring to ‘spiritual warfare,’ & that is prayer! ..
My request to each of you is to think hard about sister Beth’s words .. Let’s turn our anger & frustration into the power of God thru prayer! .. Yes, let us, as the Bible instructs, pray for our nation & its leader .. all of them! .. & even more importantly, we need to be battling for the lost because time is so very short! .. The rapture of the church will soon be followed by the final 7-year tribulation, & no one wants to have to live thru that horrible time .. All I am asking from you today is to pray .. This world & every soul in it needs it desperately!
