Finally ... it's over! .... it seems this election season went on forever ... and it proved to be a difficult time for many folks, especially Christians like me .... the ones of us who struggled with the choice we had for the leader of our country. ... and just to review, our choice was either an apostate Christian (or closet muslim) ... or a member of a paganistic cult who hid behind the Christian banner.

Having been faced with this choice, a small minority of us chose NOT to vote ... and what happened? ... We were labeled mostly as "none-of-the abovers" ... "fence sitters" ... and other demeaning titles. ... In fact, one leading member of the clergy, David Jeremiah, accused those of us who refused to vote as "sinners"!

Now that all the dust has settled, when looking back, my biggest disappointment lies with many of our nation's top Christian leaders. ... I've already mentioned David Jeremiah. ... But what about Billy & Franklin Graham? ... After a visit from Mitt Romney, they actually came out and endorsed him ... not to mention removing the "cult" info about mormonism from their website. ... There's many more examples but we can get a clear picture of just what was, and is taking place here in the "Church of America." ... From all across this land during this election season, we saw most all of the "pulpits" spewing compromise so as to try and save a dying, corrupt system through the process of legislation! ... Whatever happened to having Faith in the God of Heaven? ... It's like "having a form of godliness but denying its power." (2 Timothy 3:5)

So why do I feel like the 'other' position was compromise? ... Most all the Christians who supported Romney used the excuse that he was against 'gay' marriage, didn't support abortion ... in most cases (which in itself is sad), and had strong family values. ... Now, while all of this may be true, what about the other part ... that of him being a member of a religion who truly believes that he will someday be a god, that doesn't believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, and so much more? ... How can any 'thinking' Christian with the slightest knowledge of Scripture support such a person ... let alone the acknowledged leaders of our faith? ... Simply, it is compromise and would be no different if say I don't like something in the Word ... and then decided to overlook it because it caused me to stumble. ... Is that a choice I have? ... I think not!

Now let me turn to prophecy for a moment .... 6 months ago I said in an article that Obama would most likely win the coming election. ... Why? ... No, it's not because I'm a prophet ... but because I believe this ... that, according to Scripture, global government is soon coming to this world, and having a super-power in the way just doesn't work. .... Granted, America has served some amazing and important rolls concerning the fulfillment of prophecy ... sending Missionaries throughout the world telling of the Good News of Jesus (Matthew 24:14) .... overseeing & then protecting the Nation of Israel's rebirth (Ezekiel 37, Matthew 24:32) .... but, contrary to what some believe, and what they DON'T want to believe, America is NOT mentioned in the final days of the Church age. ... I know this is difficult for many people... those who believe that America will ultimately solve all the world's ills .. but sadly, prophecy just doesn't support it.

.. And look what happened the week prior to election day ... Romney was leading in almost all the polls ... the pundits on all the news outlets where saying he would win ... but then what happened? ... A storm of 'Biblical proportions' hits the nation with fury, and all the attention shifted away from politics and onto those in the path of the storm ... and when the rain & wind stopped, the momentum had shifted, and the rest is history. .... Now is that all by chance? ... Think what you will, but this is simply God 'doing His thing' .... in summing up, by Obama winning the election, America's demise as a world power only accelerates, thereby making room for the next events that are to take place .... more on this in another commentary ....

What those of us who have 'political inclinations' must come to realize is this ... nowhere in The New Testament does it say that we will change the world by 'joining' it!   1 John 2:15 says, "Do not love the world or anything in the world.  If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." .... John 15:19 also says, "If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.  That is why the world hates you." ....

Finally, we know that satan rules this world, for now ... "In whom the ruler of this world had blinded the minds of them which believe not." (2 Corinthians 4:4) ... Paul was quite aware of the present attitudes of this evil world, saying, "Wherein in time past you walked according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience." (Ephesians 2:2) ... In Ephesians 6:12, Paul refers to our struggle as being against "the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." ... And finally, for now, 1 John 5:19 says it clearly, "We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one."

Now I feel better! ... Having gone to Scripture, I can see clearly that being singled out, or not being a part of the 'popular' position is to be expected, at least in the eyes of our Savior .... Jesus said in John 16:33 that "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!!  I have overcome the world."

Finally, watching all these things taking place in our world today, including the results of our election, only tells me that time is extremely short. .... If you are living in sin, REPENT NOW! ... If there is someone you have thought about sharing the Good News with, DON'T put it off any longer! ... and remember, the "church of America" will ultimately save no one ... but the "Church of God" can & will save anyone who gives their life to Jesus Christ.

Until next time,

Red
