Two weeks ago, in my commentary "Speculations and Postulations", I spoke of how America was assigned by God to protect and oversee the State of Israel. --- Since that time I've thought much about Zechariah's prophecy about how Israel will stand alone in the final days before our Lord's return. In Zechariah 12:1-3, it says, "This is the word of the Lord concerning Israel. The Lord, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the Spirit of man within Him declares: 'I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves."

All who try to move it will injure themselves."
But hasn't America always stood by her? What would cause this to change? Certainly the world just couldn't turn its back on a fellow nation of peoples.
Why don't we start with world opinion? One of my favorite outfits, the U.N. (but seriously, folks), just released a recent report detailing the progress of the new and improved U.N. Human Rights Council. It was created to replace the U.S. Human Rights Commission after its credibility sank to zero. --- Although the commission was bad, this council is even worse! This new council has among its permanent members some of the most prolific human rights violators. Examples are Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Russia, Pakistan, Tunisia, --- you get the picture. --- The U.S. does not have a seat.
Since its inception, this council has ordered a special review of alleged human rights abuses by Israel to be a permanent and automatic process of every session.
Tragically, there is little or no discussion on the likes of Darfur (tens of thousands exterminated by Sudan's Islamic government), North Korea (thousands missing in the re-education camps), and so on.
Since its creation, the H.R.C. has devoted 100% of its attention to condemnations of Israel. It has passed four resolutions and conducted three special sessions just to denounce Israel (and we, the U.S. taxpayer, fund these people). -- And, oh by the way, it has yet to pass any resolution or had a special session on any other country! I guess this means that according to the U.N.'s Council, Israel is the only human rights abuser on Earth.
Here's another one --- In a recent world-wide survey (I'll not mention the source, but its initials are U.N.), the question was asked to some 28,000 people throughout most of the world as to which nation on Earth was the least desirable and most expendable. -- Who won? --- You guessed it!! -- Israel. By the way, Iran was #2 and the U.S. was #3.
Remember that Jesus warned the end-time Israelites in Matthew 24:9 when he said, "You will be hated by all nations on account of my name." -- Another end-time prophecy coming to pass.
To close this point, just three weeks ago, the H.R.C. voted to condemn Israel. The resolution called the offensive in the Gaza Strip a "grave" human rights violation against the Palestinians. However, it made no mention of Hamas or its violations of Israel: civilians rights by firing rockets into Israel.
Back to America and its protective role... Recently we've seen serious erosion in her unconditional support. We've already talked much about the seriously flawed "Roadmap to Peace" proposal. -- And now President Obama has stated he is supporting the Saudi initiative for peace between Israel and the Arab nations. -- Keep in mind this initiative calls on Israel to withdraw completely to its 1949 borders. It also calls for a full retreat from the Eastern half of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, as well as the Golan Heights in Northern Israel. -- Mr. Obama told P.L.O. Chairman Abbas, "The Israelites would be crazy not to accept this initiative." -- With this kind of protection and support, Israel would be better off going it alone.
Now, after all this, here's the point that truly amazes me concerning the world leaders. They all seem to be trying to push the Israelis into the exclusive "two-state, living side-by-side in peace" solution. -- And all this despite an avalanche of hard evidence that there is NO such thing as a "peace-seeking Muslim Palestinian."
It is like 1938 when the world, led by England's Neville Chamberlain, was trying to convince Poland and Czechoslovakia to accept the "peace-loving Nazis" of Adolph Hitler's Third Reich as "peace partners".
Ah yes, "peace in our times" -- it had a nice ring to it but the appeasers then found out what every non-realist does who lacks the courage to face the facts and speak out!
It is hard to imagine that the world can possibly be so willfully ignorant of the obvious as it is when it comes to the so-called Israeli "peace process".
-- The Palestinians don't want peace!!
They clearly and outspokenly want the annihilation of the State of Israel. One doesn't have to read between the lines to discover this shocking truth.
An example is how P.A. Interior Minister Sa'id Siam spoke recently: "If any Hamas member ever recognized Israel, he would be ejected from the movement. -- There isn't a chance any Hamas leader will ever recognize Israel. We will not betray our values. -- We will leave this world as martyrs without recognizing Israel."
-- Wow! -- No diplomatic double-talk here!!
But the world continues to insist that the Palestinians want peace, despite the evidence . And they insist that the obstacle to peace is Israel. -- But they leave the rest of the sentence unfinished out of politeness.
Israel's only obstacle to peace is its existence.
How can any civilized world leader claim ignorance of these facts? Especially our president and Congress. It seems impossible!!
America has been the comforter to Israel. This nation has always been her staunchest ally -- just about her only friend. However, America is treading dangerously in the ongoing matter of trying to force God's chosen people to give God's chosen land and city to Israel's blood-vowed enemies for a false peace that will bring on the great tribulation and Armageddon.
One doesn't have to listen too hard to hear the distant hoofbeats if attuned to issues and events of our time in a Biblically prophetic way. The Horsemen of the Apocalypse outlined in Revelation, Chapter 6 are mounted. -- The world can't yet see them, but the spiritual ear can hear them. -- Be prepared for the imminent coming of our Lord!
Until next time,
Red
