It started back a couple of years ago when megachurch
pastor Rick Warren had Barak Obama come and speak from his pulpit.
...... Now I know he is a big-wig and all ... and we all want
to rub elbows with guys like this .... but I must admit, I was really
troubled by it all. Here is a man who stands in agreement with
the homosexual agenda ... who supports public funding for abortion,
both nationally and internationally ... and he's allowed to speak from
the pulpit of one of the largest churches in America?
Then, just recently in a publicly broadcasted interview,
Mike Huckabee was asked point-blank if Mitt Romney's mormon faith would
hinder his decision when it came to voting for him. ... Without
hesitation, he said in so many words that Mr. Romney's faith would have
no bearing on his ability to run the country, and that he would support
him in the upcoming presidential election. .... Once again, I was deeply
bothered by this endorsement from a man I thought to be unwavering when
it came to his faith position. ... Here was a perfect opportunity to
at least point out the differences in his faith than that of mormonism
... and with a massive audience listening to him, but he chose to pass
it up for the sake of his party's politics ... political correctness
... or whatever other reason. .....
Does he not know the end-time politics of the mormon
church? ......... Just in case you don't, they believe that as America
crumbles in these last days, they will come to the rescue and save us!
..... and that when Jesus returns to earth to reign, he will be in Missouri
... part time ... with Joseph Smith! .... Just maybe Romney and his
church's head prophet in Salt Lake City think he's the guy to ride in
on his white horse to save the day. .........
Here's another one that makes me crazy! ... In just
these past few days, Romney visited Billy Graham at his home
....... and shortly following, Mr Graham came out
in support of this candidate! ... This, I must admit, shocked me to
the core! .... I've been an admirer of Mr Graham for many years, and
would never have conceived that something like this would take place.
.... If I could just have a moment to talk with him, I would ask him
this .... How can we, as Bible-believing Christians, support anyone
who's basic belief system is so distorted from our own ... a church
that believes our Christ is the brother of Lucifer, or satan ... that
doesn't believe in the Virgin Birth ... that doesn't believe in the
Holy Trinity .... just for starters!
And finally ........ yesterday, There was a plea
from Dr. James Dobson on his 'Family Talk' radio broadcast that said
this ... "How can a single christian stay at home on election day?"
He went on to say that we should "take a friend with us" .............
What's interesting about this is he's totally against Obama because
of his stance on the homosexual agenda as well as abortion and other
liberal positions ...... but then does NOT advocate for or against any
other individual candidate! .............. Unless you write someone
in, who's left?!!! ............... What a cope-out! ... It's just another
classic case of 'passing the buck' , and ultimately, confusion from
another one of our faith's recognized leaders.
Look .... I'm not trying to tell anyone whether
or not they should vote in this upcoming election .... that is certainly
an individual decision, just as our Salvation decision is. ........
What I am tired of is the recognized national leaders of our faith further
confusing an already difficult picture of a nation and world in decline.
.... What message does it send to an audience who is already somewhat
lacking in it's knowledge of the Scriptures ... what does it say to
that person out there who is trying to do the right thing .... who is
basically being told that it is OK to vote for someone who is a member
of a cult ... for someone who stands for, and supports social issues
that are directly in conflict with the teachings of our faith .... to
be vague, or omit things for the sake of their own status ... to invite
a misguided, sinful nature to your pulpit? .... What message does this
send to a world already in confusion?
Sadly, what it all says to me is this .... We've
lost sight of the most basic principle of our faith ... and that is
to PUT all our faith in Jesus Christ. ... He, and He alone, is the only
answer to a world descending very rapidly into chaos. ....
Romans 1:17 says, "The righteous will live by faith."
.... 1 John 5:4 says, " ... for everyone born of God overcomes
the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our
faith."
As many have already assumed , I am not one who
believes any human system will ultimately solve this world's problems.
... It hasn't for some 6000 years, and as Scripture says, won't until
our King comes back and takes the reigns of government into His own
hands. ... 1 Corinthians 3:19 says, "For the wisdom
of this world is foolishness in God's sight." ... In the meantime,
what are we to do? .... Preach the word! ... Tell as many as possible
about what truly IS going on and how each of us can ultimately survive
in this difficult world.
As for the recognized leaders of our faith, they
need to get back to the clear & precise message of our Lord's teachings
.... and quit trying to play the system from both ends. Jesus
said in John 17:14,16, " .......... for they are not
of the world any more than I am of the world." 16) They are not
of the world, even as I am not of it."
Come Lord Jesus ... and save us from ourselves!
....
Until next time,
Red
