It would seem to some that current ongoing prophetic events are moving very slowly in the world today. - Many seem to think that we are in a lull of some sort.
Having said that, in preparing this week’s line-up of prophetic news headlines, I came across several articles that would refute this position.
First, Syrian President Bashar Assad has been rattling his sword at Israel, claiming that if the Golan Height are not returned peacefully, Syria will turn to resistance.
Now --- couple this with the current ongoing inspection of a nuclear research reactor in Damascus and this prophetic plot really thickens.
Isaiah 17:1 states,
An oracle concerning Damascus:
"See, Damascus will no longer be a city
but will become a heap of ruins.
Understand that Damascus is one of the oldest cities on Earth and has never been destroyed. - Remember also that in the not-too-distant past, Israel wiped out an alleged nuclear site on Syrian soil.
With Syria becoming more militant toward Israel by the hour in conjunction with developing nuclear capabilities in and around Damascus, this prophecy is surely due to come to pass.
Second, let’s take a look at Turkey. Up until recently, she always had a decent relationship with Israel. In fact, it was the only predominantly Muslim nation that had a generally positive outlook toward the Jewish state.
But not now. In a seemingly abrupt about-face, Turkey now is verbally attacking Israel on just about every front. In fact, just this week, Turkey’s foreign minister blamed Israel for preventing any “peace progress” because of her “threats of violence” toward her adversaries.
In addition to this, Turkey has been cozying up to Iran and Russia, something that she has not done before.
Remember, these developments are consistent with Bible prophecies found in Ezekiel 38-39 which indicate that in the “last days”, Turkey (identified in the prophecies as “Gomer” and part of “Beth Togarmah”) will join a Russian-Iranian (Persian) alliance against Israel.
-- I am watching this event with great interest!
Third is the continuing decline in America’s position and stature on the global scene. As difficult as this is for many of you to accept, it is the progression of prophecy before our very eyes.
Truly, America has had a pivotal role in world events since her inception some 233 years ago, one of which was the role of protector to Israel as she re-emerged as a nation in the last century.
However, as the world marches ever-closer to a global political landscape, America’s position has to decrease in order for this to take place. -- A single super-power doesn’t fit into the prophetic picture.
Also interesting in the prophetic overview of events is how America, in addition to her economic woes, has taken a 180° turn in her support of Israel. -- I truly believe that as long as America stood by Israel, she would be spared God’s wrath. -- But with the shift in support of the Jewish state along with her current moral decay, this once-great nation faces untold woes in the final days to come.
Fourth, is the emergence of the European union, prophetically known as the revived Roman Empire. With each passing day, as America declines, the E.U. grows in strength, both economically and militarily.
What’s extremely interesting on this front is the two “positions of power” that are emerging on the scene. One, of course, is president, but the other is “E.U. foreign minister”. -- In an article out of Brussels this week, it stated that this position would have unprecedented foreign policy clout as well as great financial means. -- The article went on to say that it would be difficult politically and would take a “super-human” to manage all of the aspects of the office.
Did you hear what I just heard?! - Some of us prophecy “nut jobs” believe that the coming world ruler will emerge in the very near future and the E.U. will be his power base. -- These new positions seem perfectly suited for this apparent “super-human”.
And fifth is, of course, the ongoing and rapidly advancing isolation of Israel. Her few friends and neighbors who either supported, or at least accepted her existence, are now beginning to distance themselves from her. - The U.S. and Turkey are prime examples.
In addition, the U.N. Security Council continues to condemn Israel at what appears to be the only “human rights” violator on planet Earth. - Only God’s design for these times could blind so many to this claim.
Zechariah 12:3 tells us of how Israel will be surrounded by all nations in the end of days. -- With America’s current position and Turkey’s recent turn, can you think of anyone who truly supports her?
--- I thought not. ---
Do you still think the prophetic wheels are turning slowly? - All who have prophetic-attuned ears will strongly disagree. - The clock is ticking and everything is rapidly coming into its prophetic place for the soon-triumphant return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
These are difficult and scary times we live in. 2 Timothy 3:1-4 sums it up perfectly by saying,
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—
It’s true that our world is wallowing in despair today. We live in a society plagued by abortion, homosexuality, domestic violence, child abuse and molestation, blasphemy, pornography, drug abuse and on and on...
In Jesus’ teachings concerning last-day conditions, He says in Matthew 24:12 that, “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.” -- Notice He says most, but not all.
This is a time where we Christians rise up to meet the needs of those who have turned “cold” because of what is taking place all around them. --- Pardon the pun, but we need to be the “light in the darkness” that prevails against Satan’s last stand.
John 14:27 says,
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Until next time,
Red
