Every morning, as part of my daily regimen, I scan certain international news outlets searching for anything that points to biblically prophetic teachings -- and most always, the Holy Spirit will prompt me as to what to bring forth to you in my commentaries. .. And in every case, it is always clear to me as to what to share. .. But this week, I was caught off guard by what I was 'given.' .. It was triggered by this article from the Drudge Report just this morning. .. It said this .... "The average American will spend 43 days of their lives on hold." .. Wow! .. Then I got to thinking ...... what if God changed like the world does, and became just too busy to hear our prayers? ... Could this following example ever come true? .. and what would it look like if He decided to do so? ... The following just might be an example of what prayer could look like today if God decided to install 'voice mail' .... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Thank you for calling my Father's house - Please select one of the following options: *Press 1 for requests .. *Press 2 for thanksgiving .. *Press 3 for complaints .. *Press 4 for all other inquiries .. " What if God used the familiar excuse .. 'I'm sorry, all of our angels are busy helping other sinners right now. However, your prayer is important to us and will be answered in the order it was received, so please stay on the line.' Can you imagine getting these responses as you call God in prayer? ... "If you would like to speak to: *Gabriel - Press 1 .. *Michael - Press 2 .. *For a directory of other angels - Press 3 .. *If you would like to hear King David sing a Psalm while you are holding - Press 4 .. *To find out if a loved one has been assigned to Heaven - Press 5, enter his or her social security number, then press the pound key. .. If you get a negative response, try area code 666 .. *For reservations at 'My Father's House,' please enter J-O-H-N followed by 3-1-6 .. " What if you heard something like this .. 'Our computers show that you have already prayed once today. Please hang up and try again tomorrow' .... (or) .... 'This office is closed for the weekend to observe a religious holiday. .. Please try again Monday after 9:30 AM. .. If you need emergency assistance when this office is closed, contact your local pastor.' " ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ridiculous? .. You bet it is! ... God will NEVER have a 'voice mail' and will ALWAYS listen when we pray!! .. ... And remember, God always answers 'knee mail' .... (sorry) .. This world we live in today is growing darker & darker by the hour & will continue to do so until the Lord's triumphant return. .. But I also trust that our Great God loves us and does NOT want us to fear as we move ever closer ... In fact, I believe God has a sense of humor and we need to laugh sometimes just to ease the tensions many of us are feeling. .... Malachi 3:6 says this .. "I the Lord do not change." .... Simply, He will never 'install' the things our world has come to know as the 'way of life' today .. He is ALWAYS there for us and will NEVER put us on hold! .. Hallelujah!!! ......
