A 7.7 magnitude earthquake off the West Coast .....
Hurricane 'Sandy' hammering the East Coast as I write this commentary
.... Coincidence, or is God finally done with our sinful ways ....
Ezekiel 7:3 says, "The end is now upon
you and I will unleash my anger against you. I will judge you
according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices."
.... Doesn't get much clearer than that!
Several 'pillars' of the Christian community believe
that these catastrophic events happening all around us is no accident
... or coincidence ... but that it is the judgement of God ...... First,
Joel Rosenberg says that .... "We live at a very dangerous moment
in American history. It is a time when the Lord God Almighty is
trying to get our attention and call us to repent of our sins and turn
back to faith in Jesus Christ and back to reading and obeying the Bible.
At the moment, we are far from God and far off track as a nation.
Massive debt ... skyrocketing murder & violent crime ... more than
53 million abortions ... the stain of pornography ... The list
of our sins is getting longer and longer each year. ... Yet the country
has not yet woken up and realized that turning our collective backs
on God is a recipe for judgement and disaster."
Mega-church Pastor John MacArthur says this .....
"Materialism, drunkard pleasure seeking, arrogant conceit, defiant
sinfulness, moral perversion, and corrupt leadership .... do you not
see this in America?" He continues by saying, "I look
at America ... people say what is wrong with this country. .... They
have rejected the Word, the law of the Lord, the Holy One Himself."
Having been a prophecy student for some 35+ years,
I couldn't agree more with these gentlemen's take on what's happening.
Seeing the increase in wars, famine, pestilences & fearful events
... the "birth pains" spoken of in Matthew 24:7-8 & Luke
21:11 ... It's obvious to at least those of us who know the Word of
God. ... But sadly, the masses just don't get it!
Matthew 24:37-39 says, "As it was in
the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
38) For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;
39) and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came
and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of
the Son of Man." ............................ and sadly,
all these 'signs' we are seeing simply represent the coming 'flood'
that is about to inundate this sorry planet.
...and again, for those of us who study these things
... who read the Scripture which were given to us by our Great God ...
it is no surprise to see this all taking place. The Bible tells
of the Godlessness that would take place in these last days. ... 2 Timothy
3:1-4 says it about as plainly as it can get ... "But mark this:
There will be terrible times in the last days. 2) People
will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3) without love, unforgiving,
slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
4) treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers
of God ...." ........... Sound familiar? Need I emphasize
that our nation, and the entire world, is wallowing in despair today?
... As Pastor MacArthur said previously, we live in a society plagued
by abortion, homosexuality, domestic violence, child molestation, blasphemy,
pornography, alcoholism, drug abuse, gambling, and on and on ..................
The bottom line is this ... Our nation is faced
with massive economic and social problems unparalleled in its history
..... and the reason is staring us in the face! ... When we reject God
and REFUSE to believe and follow His Word, we are then left to our own
devices ... which eventually always fail, for "There is a
way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."
(Proverbs 14:12) .....
At the most basic level, our problems are not really
economic, social or political .... THEY ARE SPIRITUAL! ... Simply, America
has forsaken God ... we have rejected His rule both as individuals and
as a nation.
I truly believe, with all that is taking place ...
even as I write this piece ... that God is reminding us that America's
destiny is not in the hands of our corrupt system and its leaders ...
but in His hands ..
2 Chronicles 7:14 shows us what we must do for there
to be ANY chance of our surviving as a people and nation ..........
"If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves
and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land."
It's that simple ..... but will we do it? .... is
there still time? ...... I think we will know within a very
short moment ............
Luke 21:28 says it all ..... "When these things
begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption
is drawing near."
