Frogs in a Pot

"As is was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38) For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39) and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away." .. Matthew 24:37-39 ....... It is simply astounding as to how the vast majority of people in the world today are so blind concerning what is about to befall upon them! .. It is just exactly the same conditions Jesus tells us about in Noah's day. .. The signs were everywhere, but people were too busy with the 'normals' of life to notice. .. Hence the flood took them away - ultimately to a fate no one wants to even contemplate. .. The 'Frogs in a Pot' description is a perfect analogy of just how it is today ... Put a frog in a big pot of water .. the fire starts under the pot & the water slowly gets hotter & hotter, until it comers to a boil. .. Now during this process, the frog doesn't realize the temperature change & slowly boils to death .. he dies before he ever realizes what is happening! .. Simply put, the world is coming to a boiling point, & the vast majority of folks are totally unprepared spiritually for it! .. And where is the Church in all this!? .. National statistics indicate that some 85% of Americans claim to be 'Christian.' .. So why the unprecedented oblivion? .. The following statistics certainly illustrate a major reason as to why. .. This headline from CBN a couple of weeks ago pretty much sums it up. .. It said, "Falling Away: Number of professing Christians ignorant of the Bible at an all-time high" .. Also, the report stated that only 4% of 'Millennials' (14-35) have a Christian world view. .. Here's some more stats .. LifeWay conducted a survey involving just Protestant pastors - just under one-half do not believe the Rapture is literal .. an increasingly small number believe in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture .. Less than one-fifth believe in a Post-Tribulation Rapture .. Less than half believe the Antichrist is a person that will rise in the future .. Only 14% believe the Antichrist is the personification of evil .. Many don't believe he will be an actual person (allegorical view) .. Less than half believe in a 1,000 year reign of Christ .. Another One-third don't believe in the 1,000 year reign of Christ, but say He reigns in the hearts & minds of Christians .. A growing number believe the world will gradually get better & then Jesus will return (Dominion - Post-Millennialism) .. and these are the LEADERS of what remains of the mainstream Church! .. What Bible are they reading?!.. (and we wonder why the world is oblivious to what is about to befall it?!) ... The prophet Amos said it perfectly ... " 'The days are coming,' declares the sovereign Lord, 'when I will send a famine through the land - not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord.' " (Amos 8:11) ... Jesus Himself said in Luke 18:8 .. " ... when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" .. As always, He's right! ....... (oh, that's right .. He wrote it!) As with the prophets of old, frustration grows & grows in those of us who can 'see' it coming, but so few are listening. .. All we can do is continue to ring the warning bells & pray that more & more will come to the truths of God's Word. .. The apostle Peter said in 2 Peter 3:9, The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish." .. If you are not paying attention, still not a believer, or somewhere in the middle, He is waiting for you! .. but for not much longer. ...... If you are a non-believer, agnostic .. whatever .. I have only one request .. Stop! .. Take just a moment out of your busy day, and read just a few of the Bible's teachings about the times we are living in .. the prophecies that clearly tell us why all this craziness is happening. .. You don't have to be a Bible scholar to 'see' it. .. My guess is that once you even begin to see the truth it declares, it will make you want to go even further. .. But watch out! .. You just might start believing in this stuff! ,, 2 Peter 1:19 tells us of this truth ... "And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts." .. Hallelujah! ... Just remember this .. the most important thing of all .. each of our decisions concerning our personal relationship with Jesus Christ will determine where we will spend ETERNITY.. (that's forever, by the way) .. either in a fiery hell where there is NO escape, or a paradise where we will live with those we love in joy & good health FOREVER! ... Think about it! .. Are the consequences of a half-hearted efforts toward God worth the risk? .. When one stops for just a moment, the sheer importance of each of our decisions is mind-blowing! ...... I urge each of us to stop wasting time & start sharing & spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. .. The cost of waiting or procrastinating is just too great!...... OK ..
